Another tragedy hit a Colorado high school north of Denver after a teen tried to commit suicide by setting himself on fire in the school's cafeteria. How can we help these kids in need?

I know every state is affected by school tragedies, but it seems to me Colorado has to rank as one highest!

I was just wondering to myself why Colorado?

It makes no sense to me, we should be one of the states with the least amount of these occurrences, just think of all the things we have to do in Colorado.

There are tons of outdoors activities for kids, tons of different resources and programs available, and anti-bullying campaigns in every school. What else can we do?!

In my opinion, there is one key element missing -- parental involvement!

We talk about "paying it forward" and doing a good deed before one needs to be done. What about "pay it forward parenting"?

Implement rules and consequences so your kids don't do something crazy in the future, hold them accountable for their actions.

Most importantly spend time with them, engage with them, talk to them! Encourage your child to be open and upfront about how they're feeling, if they're being bullied or lead into peer pressure.

Lets stop the violence before it starts!
