A family requested welfare check last night (September 1) done by the Mesa County Sheriff's Office found two people dead in their Clifton home.

When Sheriff's Deputies arrived at the residence they found the male and female occupant, both in their 20's, dead.

An out-of-state family member contacted authorities requesting the welfare check out of concern for the safety of the people at the home.

The Sheriff's Office is investigating the deaths and released little information other than there didn't appear to be any signs of forced entry.

They also believe this is an isolated incident with no outstanding subjects being part of the investigation at this time.

The Mesa County Coroner's Office is conducting autopsies to determine the cause and manner of the two deaths.

The investigation is ongoing and the Sheriff's Office asks that anyone with any information about the deceased or how and when they might have died are asked to call the Witness Tip Line at 970-244-3526.

An anonymous call can also be made to Crime Stoppers at 241-7867 or via the Crime Stoppers of Mesa County website.
