Time For Another Mesa County Phone Scam

The Mesa County Sheriff's Office is warning Grand Valley residents of yet another phone scam. This time, Western Colorado residents are contacted by individuals claiming to be with a law enforcement agencies.

Those contacted are informed they have active warrants or a pending court appearance. The perpetrator then requests payment.

What's unique about this scam would be the phone number from which these calls originate. Those contacted report their caller ID's show a number associated with the Mesa County Sheriff's Office.

According to a press release from the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, their department WILL NOT call you in regards to a warrant.
