You've been seeing "Me too." across social media. Here's why you've seen "Me too." on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and why you should use "Me too." too.

People across social media are sharing "Me too." to show that others are not alone in experiencing sexual assault and sexual harassment. The "Me too." trend began with Alyssa Milano in response to the Harvey Weinstein scandals.

Then the responses started coming in. Now the tweet has over 50,000 replies within a little over 24 hours. I'd say that sexual assault and harassment is something that happens commonly, too commonly. I posted "Me too." today because it's not something I should be afraid or hesitant to talk about. This is what happened to me.

I was in a parking lot, sitting in the car, waiting to leave from the front of a store when a car blocks me in. I thought they must be waiting to pick up someone. I wait, looking down at my phone when I notice the car is still blocking my way. I look over only to be horrified. This man is holding his privates and shaking them at me. He was waiting for me to look. He wanted me to look. As soon as I saw what he was doing, I looked away, and he drove away.

I'm not sure what state he was in when he drove away -- elation, maybe? Who knows, but I was crying.

I cried all the way from the store to work. "Why would this person do that to me? Was that a guy I refused to give my number? How sick is this! What is wrong with them?," I thought.

When I got back to work, I told my employer at the time. He was apologetic but upset and questioned me when I told them I told the police, almost angry. All I kept thinking is, how I never wanted anyone else to experience what I did.

There's a comfort in knowing you're not alone and there's power in coming together for one cause. That's to stop the sexual abuse and harassment. Stop the feelings of shame because there's nothing to be ashamed about. You have done nothing wrong, just like I've done no wrong. We can post about it, we can talk about and together, we can do something about it.
