The Grand Junction Community Comes Together in Time of Need

When tragedy strikes, the Grand Junction community comes together in unbelievable ways. This is just one of the many reasons to love this community.

Today marks another one of those examples.

Kelli Marx of Grand Junction was diagnosed with Acute Disseminated Hemorrhagic Encephalomyelitis, a very rare disease that doctors have only seen a few times. This disease attacks the nerves in the brain and spine, causing Marx sudden paralysis from the waist down. In order for her to live with her husband and three young children, according to ADA standards, the whole house has to be remodeled for a wheelchair.

The Marx family has spent years volunteering their time for the community, including years of volunteer work at the fire department. Marx is a nurse at St. Mary's and has always cared about the health of others. Her husband Danny currently serves the community as a Garfield County Sheriff Deputy.

A Grand Junction family has selflessly stepped up in donating 7 signed guitars from Country Jam and Rock Jam. They donated these guitars for an auction on YouCaring in hopes to raise funds to help with the remodel to get Marx home with her family.

Rascal Flatts, Twisted Sister, 3 Doors Down, 38 Special, Puddle of Mud, Skillet, and Montgomery Gentry are the signed guitars up for bid. They are pictured below individually.
