A student is in custody after an apparent "Columbine-Style" threat on Snapchat canceled classes at Telluride High School on November 27.

On Sunday (Nov. 26) staff at Telluride High School were contacted after a threat to "shoot students at school" showed up on Snapchat. Investigators also became aware of a Snapchat that made mention of explosives surrounding the school.

This prompted the Telluride school superintendent to cancel classes.

A student was taken into custody on Sunday. After searching the suspects house, authorities found a rifle and handgun inside the residence. No name or age has been given to the student.

There are at least five other students being interviewed in connection with the investigation.

Investigators, school officials, and hazardous materials team have been sweeping the school for explosives and evidence. The FBI has also been contacted to help with the investigation.

School is expected to resume Tuesday, November 28.
