It is a confusing time to follow The Walking Dead. A few major upsets had fans wondering if Season 9 might break from the comic entirely, but first photos from the Georgia set tease a strange new (albeit familiar) look for the AMC zombie drama. Is that time-jump happening after all?

Another season of The Walking Dead has come to a close, but all is not resolved. Reports indicate star Lauren Cohan has not finalized a deal to return for the ninth season, even as Sunday’s Season 8 closer set Maggie up for a major arc.

However much the first half of The Walking Dead Season 6 spent jumping around time and perspective, few would argue that our beloved Daryl got the short end of the stick, leading only a solitary episode, and losing his iconic motorcycle and crossbow in the process. Our long national nightmare has ended, however, as the back eight will feature much more Norman Reedus, even “a little Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” action with Rick.
