The Grand Junction Community has a heart of gold. This weekend was no different as nearly 200 motorcycles honored Deputy Geer with a Unity Ride.

Deputy Geer lost his life in the line of duty nearly two months ago. Since that time, the Grand Valley has poured out their hearts to show continuous support for a man who loved his community and all the people in it.

This weekend, that support continued, and it roared. Tons of motorcycle riders gathered and took to the streets in a Unity Ride, on what looked like a gloomy, cool and wet Saturday. You would never know that the weather was even a factor when you looked at the faces of the riders, and the warm purr of the bikes as they took the streets.

The Unity Ride made minutes and miles combined, a huge success. The tour took the riders to the Vietnam Memorial in Fruita, and the National Guard Armory on D Road and to the Veterans of Foreign Wars building. All in honor of a man who was very special to Grand Junction, Deputy Geer. The proceeds were given to the Geer Family.
