Six men from Grand Junction were arrested in connection with a national investigation that targets the criminals responsible for the sex trafficking of children.

The Grand Junction Police, Mesa County Sheriff's and Fruita Sheriff's Departments, along with the Colorado State Patrol, Colorado Bureau of Investigation, the 21st Judicial District Attorney's Office, and the FBI teamed together during the tenth annual Operation Cross Country initiative to bring in six local men, two of which are currently sex offenders.

FBI Director Comey gives a bit of information about the initiative, “Operation Cross Country aims to shine a spotlight into the darkest corners of our society that seeks to prey on the most vulnerable of our population,” saying, "We are not only looking to root out those who engage in the trafficking of minors, but through our Office for Victim Assistance, we offer a lifeline to minors to help them escape from a virtual prison no person ever deserves.”
