A local man is trying to make a difference here in Grand Junction with a new program that he says hits very close to home. Last weekends drowning tragedy on the Colorado river was felt closely by Brian Cohee of Grand Junction.

Brian told KREX that he launched on Memorial Day within minutes of Ctormy Taylor who went missing after the launch, Taylor was not weary a life jacket

Brian is calling his new program 'Save a Life Jacket' and hopes to fill boxes at popular launching area on the river soon with floatation devices that are free to use for those that forgot or don't own their own life jackets.

If you have any used life jackets you are willing to donate to Save a Life Jacket, contact Brian Cohee at 970-241-3404 or btcohee@bresnan.net.
