Roxi’s Attempt at Baking 101 — She Earns an ‘F-‘
I failed last night at an attempt to make a cake -- a box cake mind you -- we'll it didnt' turn out quite right! What did i do wrong with my cake, I followed the directions, well almost!
I did switch out the oil for applesauce but I really don't think that it would have created the sloppy center that was uncooked!
When I checked the "cake" the top was toasted brown and it was cooking for 15 minutes on the top shelf with no cover on. Was that the issue?
I took the cake out and even checked the center with a tooth pick and nothing came up-Clean as a whistle!
The cake cooled off and then it happened; it was like the Titanic, it just keep sinking and sinking. I did put frosting on the cake to make it look better but that was a fail!
I added candy sprinkles on the top to help the look but nope that did not work!
I waited one hour and then cut into the cake the edge was done and the center was a sloppy uncooked mess!
What did I do wrong? Please be my Martha Stewart and tell me!
