UPDATED: Plane Goes Missing Flying From Grand Junction to New Mexico
A plane that left from Grand Junction Regional Airport has gone missing on its way to New Mexico. The plane has been missing since Thursday, February 22.
UPDATE: The plane has been found near Dove Creek by the Colorado/Utah state line. Civil Air Patrol found the plane but unfortunately, there were no survivors according to KKCO.
ORIGINAL STORY: The search is on for a missing place. The plane left for Albuquerque, New Mexico around 10 am from the Grand Junction Regional Airport. The Kaupp family has asked for any help to find their father's plane. Along with Pilot Bill Kaupp, three other people were on the plane as well.
The plane is a Piper Lance with call letters, C-GYGY, according to the family's Facebook post on their business page.
Aircrews went searching for the missing plane on Friday but were forced to turn back because of snow. A Montrose ground team was sent to search the area on Friday. The search area is 130 miles southwest of Grand Junction, according to KKCO.
