Pinterest Cracked Skin Miracle Treatment — Big Hit or Bust?

Each week I will search for a new and unique beauty idea on Pinterest and try it out. Then I will let you know if it’s a Beauty “Big Hit” — or a Beauty “Bust”. 

This Week’s Pin: Using Listerine and shaving cream to remove dead dry skin from feet.

The Claim: Due to dry weather, wearing flip flops/going barefoot, and other environmental factors, feet can become dry, cracked and calloused.  Using a "foot wrap" with Listerine and shaving cream will quickly and easily remove the dead skin from your feet, leaving them soft and smooth.

 Items needed:

* any brand of men's shaving cream (foam in a spray can)

* Listerine

* warm water

* hand towels to wrap feet in

 Directions:    Put shaving cream on your feet.   

 In a bucket or sink, combine equal parts warm water and Listerine.  Soak a small hand towel in the solution of water and Listerine.  While the shaving cream is still on your feet, wrap the wet hand towel around your feet and let it sit for 30 minutes. 

After 30 minutes, use the towel to rub your feet. Some of the calloused and discolored skin will rub off.  

The Results:  Nope, they're still ugly.  As you might have noticed from the pictures, my feet are not my best asset -- in fact, my husband tells me I have troll feet -- so anytime something comes along that promises to make  my feet a little prettier, I am more than happy to give it a try.  I even own one of those 'Ped-Egg" things, but I have to be honest --it's kind of like using a cheese grater on cement and I end up going through 2 or 3 blades in one sitting....and my arms get really tired.  I was excited to think that something might just magically do all the work for me as I sat and blissfully read a magazine.  Sadly it was not to be.  It's a good thing my husband loves me. 

The Verdict: The Cracked Skin Miracle Treatment is a Beauty "Bust"!
