Free is pretty hard to beat, and coming up Monday, August 4th, you can enjoy access to Colorado State Parks at no charge! That's right, FREE! Access to our Colorado's State Parks at no cost is all part of the celebration honoring Colorado's acceptance into statehood.

Our beloved Colorado was first recognized as a state on August 1, 1876. It would be another 80 years before we saw our first state park.

Did you know that most Coloradoans live less than 30 minutes from a state park?

While park entrance fees are waived for the day, you'll still need a valid license or permit for activities like fishing and camping. Please note: free access is to Colorado STATE parks, not national parks.

The preservation of beautiful places for everyone to enjoy is a uniquely American concept. The outdoors is the fabric of who we are in Colorado" - Ken Brinks - CPW Parks and Outdoor Assistant Director

Celebrate the anniversary of Colorado's statehood by visiting one of the 42 state parks or 300 state wildlife areas our wonderful state has to offer.
