Orchard Mesa has been the subject of many break-ins. But one woman has come up with a plan to make it stop.

KKCO reports Ladona Luque never thought to leave her home for a few minutes, would make her the victim of a break-in. That is exactly what happened.

Ladona has lived in Orchard Mesa for 22 years and is in disbelief that this could happen to her.

In Orchard Mesa, Luque is one of many who have been the victim of a break-in and has seen a significant change in the neighborhood.

Concerned residents are now coming together to work with one another, and change the neighborhood’s mood, and make it safer. According to Kate Gerry:

Geery has started a community watch group on Facebook. The neighborhood will now be working with the Grand Junction Police Department to help educate themselves on how to protect no only their homes, but their families.
