A Colorado man who disappeared last Thursday during halftime of a Denver Broncos game has been found safe and unharmed – in Pueblo.

53-year-old Paul Kitterman of Kremmling was found safe Tuesday night after police received a tip that he was seen at a K-Mart store off Highway 50 West in Pueblo. Police Sgt. Franklyn Ortega told the Associated Press that Kitterman looked tired but was otherwise unharmed.

Kitterman was last seen during halftime of the Broncos-Chargers game Thursday (October 23) at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. Kitterman’s stepson, Jarod Tonneson, said Kitterman went to meet friends during halftime and never came back.

Denver Police confirmed on their Twitter account Tuesday that Kitterman had been located. Kitterman reportedly told police that he had “his fill of football,” and walked and hitchhiked the 130 miles to Pueblo.

According to the Associated Press, Kitterman told police that he hadn’t watched television in several days and wasn’t aware that people were looking for him. KKTV in Pueblo reports Kitterman was reportedly surprised that the story made national headlines.

During the five days that Kitterman was missing, family and friends called local hospitals and detox centers, as well as posted fliers all over Denver. The family also created a Facebook page titled “Help Find Paul Kitterman.”

The family posted the following statement Wednesday morning on their Facebook page:

The family of Paul Kitterman would like to thank each and everyone of you for your support and kindness. We cannot thank you all enough and will be forever grateful to all of you. The family is happy to report Paul has been found and they are now with him and he is safe. The family wanted to hold of reporting that Paul was located due to the fact they wanted to ensure it was Paul that was located and not someone else. The family is very much part of this page and read the comments on here. We know there are many questions that some of you may have but for the time being we are asking that you respect there privacy as they have been through a lot. We love all of you and we will never forget your kindness, compassion, and your willingness to help us find Paul. God Bless all of you....
