Guy Pohto has been charged in the death of a Palisade 14-year-old who was bow hunting with his father on the Grand Mesa. 

Sentenced to 5 years in prison, and 4 years parole, Guy Pohto age 60 pleaded guilty in Mesa County court. From Minnesota, Pohot also had charges pending in Minnesota for driving without a license, driving without license plates and driving without insurance according to KKCO.

During the hearing, it was brought to light that Pohto did not identify his target and fired a sound shot into the brush, that is when the fatal shot struck Burns.

Pohto apologised to the family in court, saying the he hopes that the family finds peace. Justin Burns was a student at Palisade High School and a member of the marching band.
