A man decided the best way to get a new pair of shoes was to go to the shoe store, find a pair that he liked and fit well, then run off without paying for them.

According to Crime Stoppers of Mesa County, on February 23 around 12:30 p.m. the suspect entered the Grand Junction Shoe Carnival store and stole a pair of Nike brand shoes.

One of the store's security cameras show the suspect is a white male, about 5-foot 5-inches tall and medium build. At the time of the theft, he was wearing a white baseball cap, black hoodie, and blue jeans. The suspect was last seen driving a white Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

People with information about this crime, including the identity of the suspect, are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 241-7867. Tips to Crime Stoppers via phone or through the website are completely anonymous. If the information leads to an arrest, the tipster can receive a cash reward of up to $1,000.
