A local nonprofit is throwing a 5K this weekend. The goal is to raise financial support to help the local MOPS community stay alive. MOPS is a grassroots movement the believes better moms make a better world.

MOPS is designed to help local moms connect, and encourage one another. MOPS connects Grand Junction moms to a community of women who meet together to embrace the journey of motherhood.

“MOPS at the Canyon View Vineyard Church has given me the opportunity to connect with other moms in the community. I am so thankful for this non-profit and how it has positively impacted my life and my children’s lives.” Says local mom and MOPS member, Bethany Schaffer

Any local moms that would like to participate in the Moms 4 MOPS Starlight 5K need to show up at the Little Salt Wash Park, in Fruita, CO this Saturday, August 13 at 7:30PM. The non-profit will be collecting cash donations benefiting local Canyon View Vineyard MOPS group. Each $10 contribution will give participants the opportunity to enter into a gift basket giveaway with donations from local businesses. This is a family friendly event.

I strongly encourage any local moms that are interested, to show up at the event and connect with other local moms.
