Kudos to you, Grand Junction Parks and Rec, for hosting yet another amazing 'Dog Days' at Lincoln Park. This event literally makes the day for both dogs and their families. Take a look at this year's festivities.

Each September, as Grand Junction Parks and Rec closes the pool at Lincoln Park for the season, they set aside one extra day so dogs can enjoy some fun in the sun. As you can imagine, things get a little wacky.

Some dogs were born to swim, others need a little convincing. Some need a push. For many dogs, this is the first chance they've ever had to enjoy a nice, cool swim.

When it was all said and done, proceeds go towards local non-profits.

This event rolls around every year, so make plans to participate in 2017. You say you don't live in Grand Junction? Palisade and Fruita both host similar events at their local pools, right about this same time of year. In all cases, the events are already over for 2016, but they'll undoubtedly be back next year.

A huge "thank you" to all the organizers, staff, and lifeguards (yes, there were lifeguards on duty) who made this event possible. If our furry friends could say it, you would hear a "thank you" from them as well.
