Kanye West is allegedly in the planning stages of a commitment ceremony that'll take place before girlfriend/baby momma Kim Kardashian gives birth to their first child.

While West would like to marry Kim, she's inconveniently still technically married to Kris Humphries, so the couple has decided to exchange non-legally binding vows and rings instead.

Which, considering Kim's marital record, is a much safer plan.

A source who claims “Kanye is very traditional” explained, “He’d have liked to marry Kim now they are having a baby. But with Kim still married to someone else, there is not much he can do."

But even though the ceremony won't actually mean jack in the eyes of the law, no expense will be spared -- it'll supposedly be a lavish private Malibu beach party, with an even more spectacular legal wedding to follow once Kim's divorce is finalized.

Once she can officially tie the knot, it'll be her third trip down the aisle -- the 32-year-old also had a short-lived marriage to producer Damon Thomas back when she was Kim Kardashian the socialite, not Kim Kardashian the brand. (And they say gays are ruining the sanctity of marriage.)

Oh, and she's also considering changing her last name to Kardashian-West. Kind of surprising she isn't forcing him to change his last name to Kwest, actually.

“[The ceremony] won’t be official like a wedding because Kanye wants that to be extra special when the time comes," the source added. “But they will still exchange rings - they just won’t wear them on their wedding fingers ... It’ll be a lot more low-key than a wedding.” Except it'll likely be broadcast worldwide on a reality show.

Afterwards, they'll take a trip to Italy, where their child was supposedly conceived. Or, as it's known to many celeb-watchers, the "scene of the crime."
