The multi-talented musician, producer, actor and record company executive Jack White has now penned a children's book. We're Going to Be Friends, inspired by the White Stripes song of the same name, will be released on Nov. 7.

"We're Going to Be Friends" is one of the White Stripes most enduring and loved songs," the Third Man website, where it can be pre-ordered, says. "With the help of illustrator Elinor Blake (aka April March), the perennial favorite feels right at home on the page as a children's book. Coming this November, children, adults, and you, too, can join Suzy Lee as she goes to school with her books and pens, looks for bugs, shows and tells, and finds a friend."

Blake is also the animator behind the Ren and Stimpy Show and Pee Wee's Playhouse. Her song "Chick Habit," under the moniker April March, was featured in Quentin Tarantino's film Death Proof.

Several recordings of the song, including the original as well as new versions by March and the Woodstation Elementary School Singers will accompany the book as digital downloads. "We're Going to Be Friends" first appeared on their breakthrough platinum album from 2001, White Blood Cells. The record also featured Top 20 alternative radio hits in "Fell in Love With a Girl" and "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground."

Although this is the debut children's book for White, it's not his first attempt to reach out to youngsters. In 2015, Third Man Records released a children's compilation and turntable, aiming to get kids hooked on vinyl early.
