When you live in a town based on a grid system, it can be hard to find circles. How will Grand Junction celebrate "Looking For Circles Day" on November 2?

Before anyone says it... "Roundabouts." Okay, now that we have that out of the way, what other circles will you find around Grand Junction? Crop circles? Not so much. How about water tanks? We have a few of those.

There is, of course, the round surface on the quad just outside the Student Center at CMU. How about that round drive-up thingy at St. Mary's?

Grand Junction residents are accustomed to right angles, i.e. the 90 degree corners of 12th and North, or for that matter, almost every intersection in the valley.

How did this holiday come about? I looked into the matter, but ended up literally "going in circles" trying to find an answer. It's simply one of those weird holidays that just kind of came about.

If you look hard enough, you'll find plenty of circles in Grand Junction. It's not entirely clear why you would want to look for circles, but in any event, it's kind of fun. Get to looking.
