This weekend I will be celebrating my bachelor party in Las Vegas Nevada. My friends and I are not the most well off guys, so we have to do Vegas on a budget. That almost sounds like an oxymoron. It is possible to do it cheap without sacrificing having a good time.

The most expensive thing in Vegas will be your room, for the most part. A lot of people try and stay at the fancy hotels or try to get suites. If you don't  have the money then don't do the expensive hotels and suites. When you're in Vegas you spend the least amount of time in your room. It really is just a place for you to rest your head and store your stuff. If you are on the strip or on Fremont street, pick the cheapest room you can find that is in a central location and walk the strip or Fremont street.

My party is most excited about hanging by the pool. A lot of hotels and casinos have amazing pools. You don't have to be staying at the hotel or casino to enjoy their pool. Usually, there is a small fee. So find a hotel that is cheap, and use the extra money you saved to hang by the pool at a nicer place like the Palms or Planet Hollywood.

When it comes to drinking, this might be your second most expense. What you want to avoid is paying $10 a drink by the pool or in a club. The best way to do it is to sit down at a slot machine, throw in a few nickles, and get free drinks. Most casino's and hotels will feed you drinks as long as you are gambling. Leave the pool for a minute, go to a slot and order a drink, then head back to the pool or club. It's as easy as that. Either that or pregame in your room.

As far as traveling goes, there are a few ways to do it cheaply. We are flying out and found round trip to Vegas from Grand Junction, Colorado for $180 through Allegiant Air. This is about what you'll spend in gas. If you have a group of people that want to drive, that is definitely the way to do it. Splitting gas 4 ways will run you about $45 per person. If you don't have a fuel efficient car, renting one can be pretty inexpensive and will save you money in the long run (depending on the cars MPG).

If you have any other suggestions on how to do Vegas on a budget, share them below with our listeners. I hope this was helpful.
