Wiener dogs all across the Grand Valley are invited to participate in Grand Junction's wiener dog races coming in August.

The 5th annual Wienerschnitzel Wiener Dog Races will be held August 11th during the GJ Rockies game with Helena at Suplizio Field. The races will be held between innings of the game and all proceeds will benefit Roice-Hurst Humane Society.

Some serious cash and prizes are on the line for Grand Junction's top wiener dogs with the top three finishers receiving over $1000 in cash and prizes, with four tickets to a Colorado Rockies' game going to the top finisher.

Wiener Dog racing is one of Grand Junction's great spectator sports. These little dogs are nothing short of being completely cute and adorable, especially when you see them running down the track with their ears flopping up and down and their short little legs moving as fast as they can.

Entry forms can be picked up at any Wienerschnitzel location in Grand Junction, Fruita, or Montrose, or from their website. The entry deadline is August 6, so get your wiener entries in and get your long-eared, short-legged canine practiced up. We'll be crowning Grand Junction's top dog soon!
