Grand Junction Landlord Refused to Rent to Trump Supporters

A Grand Junction Landlord is refusing to rent a two bedroom apartment to a resident who is a Trump supporter according to 9 News. 

If you were looking for an apartment in Grand Junction and looked in the Nickel, you may have seen a posting for a two bedroom apartment in downtown, which seems like a great deal, but if you are a Trump supporter, you will be refused the ability to rent it by the landlord.

According to the report, the landlord's name is Mark Holmes of Grand Junction, who considers this a wake-up call to America, and states that he would not want this kind of person renting from him.

I know what your thinking. Wouldn't refusing a person a home based on who they vote for be some kind of law? The answer would be no. There is a lot of information in the Fair Housing Act that covers many forms of discrimination but it does not specifically cover voting.
