The Grand Junction Police Department, along with the Colorado State Patrol teamed up with Red Robin Restaurant on Saturday to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics.

Saturday was a great day to come out, grab food, and help Special Olympics. I ran by to grab some grub, and thought "This would be fun to get served by our local Law Enforcement". It was!

As I walked into Red Robin, there was a massive crowd who had done just like I had...come out to help. I spoke with Chris Wright who is Master Trooper of District 4 Troop A.

The turnout has been amazing. Seeing all these amazing people and faces, really shows the true love that exists in Grand Junction and the surrounding communities.

Not only did I have the opportunity to learn about Special Olympics, get served by local Law Enforcement and have fun. But I got to "Tip A Cop". That's right, all the tips made by the great waiters and waitresses in uniform, the tips all went to Special Olympics.

I have to say. The service was great! Could we think about doing this kind of thing when I get pulled over? Just a thought!

Thank you to all who attended, and a special thanks to all the Law Enforcement volunteers. Job VERY well done.
