Ready or not, it's time to think about freezing temperatures, and we could have some tonight with a freeze watch in effect for Western Colorado, including the Grand Valley.

The National Weather Service has issued the freeze watch for tonight into early Tuesday morning.

Today's gusty winds are ushering in colder temperatures, which will be felt across the region. Higher elevations will see lows in the 20s, while the lower valleys, including Grand Junction and Fruita could see early morning lows in the lower 30s. Winds should be diminishing by this evening, but will have brought a significant change to the valley's weather.

Of course, the colder weather  mean you will want to dress a little warmer on Tuesday, but more importantly, sensitive outdoor vegetation should be tended to, as well as irrigation systems that could be damaged by possible freezing temperatures.
