There's indoor entertainment, and a ton of fun outside this weekend, so lather on some sun screen and head out. Sure, there's a chance for rain on Saturday, but we "promise" it won't be enough to spoil your fun.

    CMU Baseball/Fireworks

    Friday, 6:05PM

    The CMU Mavericks host Colorado Christian at Suplizio Field. Little Leaguers in uniform get in free, as the Mavs make their annual attempt at an attendance record. Fireworks will immediately follow the game. Admission is just $5.

    Southwest Arbor Fest

    Saturday, NOON-5PM

    Lincoln Park is the place to be for a celebration of trees, mac & cheese, and beer. There will be touch-a-truck for the kids, LIVE music, the jalapeno eating contest, tree seedlings, samples of mac & cheese, and beer tasting. Admission is FREE, and it's $20 for the beer tasting.

    Gear Up Festival

    Saturday, Sunday

    Okay, so this one isn't in Grand Junction, but it used to be when it was the MOG Fest.  Vendors, gear for sale and trade, live music, beer, and the Telluride Mountain Film Festival.There will be a variety of outdoor recreation demos like fly casting, stand up paddle boarding, and mountain biking. Admission is free!

    Mo5aic Concert

    Saturday

    This is a benefit for the Western Slope Center For Children, and actually starts with a presentation of 101 Dalmations at the Avalon Theatre, presented by the Youth Theatre Project.

    Saturday night, the acapella group Mo5aic takes the stage in what promises to be phenomenal evening of music, by a group Tony Bennet called "the best vocal group I've ever heard. Tickets through Monumental Events or by calling 1-800-626-8497.

    Colorado National Monument

    Visits to the Colorado National Monument are free all weekend, so take advantage of the opportunity to take a drive, hike, bike,  or have a picnic high above the valley floor.
