Ah, the weekend. Those two days when work takes a back seat to fun and relaxation. Let's take a look at some fun things to do in and around Grand Junction this weekend.

Medieval Fantasy Combat

For those who enjoyed the Renaissance Faire last weekend, you have more fun to enjoy. Come out to Sherman Park and join in! The "weapons" are foam and the idea is to just come out and have a good time. And starting at noon on Saturday, you can.

Grand Valley Dressage Society Schooling Show

Saturday and Sunday, starting at 8 AM, you can join the Grand Valley Dressage Society for their schooling show. I know I love watching those amazingly beautiful animals perform things that are out of the ordinary for most animals and it never ceases to amaze me how well they do being put through their paces.

No Limits Monster Truck Show

This weekend in Montrose you can enjoy the thrills of watching monster trucks do what they do best. Crush cars and look cool. Add in a 30-foot tall robotic dragon that breathes fire and destroys cars and you know this one will be fun. The fun kicks off at 2:00 p.m. Saturday.

Two Rivers Convention Center will be letting their hair down for this event. The best barbers and stylists around will meet at Two Rivers Convention Center to show off their skills and artistry. Special guest Rob the Original will help judge. Head out at noon and catch the action! Tickets are $20 and a portion will go to Help Me Mesa County.

Girl's Only Weekend

One for just the ladies. Plan a ladies weekend tailor-made for you and your friends. Start your day with a nice hike, then a tour of some of the wineries or maybe you would rather strap on a helmet and get busy riding. Whatever it is, a great, fun, relaxing way to spend the weekend doing things you love with people you love.

There are a few suggestions for you. Pick one of these or find one you like!
