It's been nearly four years since 'Dry Erase Jenny' hit the internet, drawing cheers and applause for the innovative way she quit her job - with a series of messages on a dry erase board. Jenny is still going around and some are seeing her for the first time.

The fact is, it is all a hoax. 'Dry Erase Jenny' is  actually actress  Elyse Porterfield, who was hired for the job by a guy simply wanted to create a viral video. It worked!

It was revealed on Tech Crunch that the woman quitting her job via dry erase board, as was the shocking response by her supposed boss.

While the whole thing is pretty hilarious, it serves as a reminder that you can't believe everything you see, hear, or read. The problem is, we WANT to believe. We want to believe the unbelievable, the shocking, the absurd, and there are plenty of buffoons out there more than able and willing to feed our appetite for the sensational.

In case you missed it the first time around, take a minute to enjoy 'Dry Erase Jenny.'
