Another Stuff the Bus Campaign wrapped up Thursday as the First Student Bus at Mesa Mall was emptied of donated school supplies.

After a month of collecting school supplies for kids in need in Mesa County School District 51, the First Student bus inside Mesa Mall was unstuffed, and the supplies sorted, and divided among the schools in the district.

The schools will give the supplies to kids who have need when school starts up on Monday.

This year, Townsquare Media radio stations teamed up with Western Rockies Federal Credit Union for the annual campaign. The credit union was a major player in the entire effort both with man power and in raising $600 for supplies.

The fact is, overall donations to Stuff the Bus were down this year compared to past years. We suspect the early start to the school year is at least partially to blame. It's not too late to make a donation to the effort, if you would like to participate. You can bring your donation of school supplies or cash to the Townsquare Media Grand Junction Office at 315 Kennedy Avenue.
