It seems someone is hard at work installing carpet on the trails just off of Western Colorado's Land's End Road. Does it strike anyone as a bit odd someone would actually try to put down carpet on an outdoor trail? Apparently, they had to stop mid-job, leaving behind their materials. Does anyone know who the carpet layers are?

By my estimates, that looks like roughly 60 square feet of carpet padding. They're going to need a lot more than that if they plan to carpet all of Land's End.

The carpet layers must have needed to take a break. Typically, most installers can put down hundreds of square feet of carpet before needing to break for beer.

Uh oh. It looks like the carpet installers had a flat. Then again, perhaps they misunderstood the concept of "tubing" down a stream. Close, but not quite.

While it is my sincere hope the carpet padding, beer cans, and miscellaneous other pieces of trash, are remnants of an ambitious carpeting project, I can't deny the more realistic possibility. Could it be that someone simply left a bunch of trash behind after a night of camping? I can't help but think so.

This is the kind of thing that doesn't cut it in Colorado. Come to think of it, this wouldn't cut it anywhere. Please don't pollute our incredible public areas in Western Colorado.
