This video, posted by the Denver Police Department and shared by the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, features David, a criminal arrested in Grand Junction in October, showing how easy it is to spot a victim, break into their vehicle, and remove valuables.

The most frightening part is it only takes seconds for a thief to break into your car and take what they want.

While inconvenient, David's advice on the best way to keep your valuables safe -- don't leave them in your car -- is the only way to guarantee you won't be a victim.
