With Valentine's Day around the corner, our minds are filled with what to do. If you are anything like me, Valentine's Day needs to be on a budget. Here are my 5 steps to help you out.

Step 1-Don't go broke by overthinking this!- I know that you have the perfect Valentine's Day planned by going over the top and making your other half feel amazing. Trust me when I say, simple can be just as effective as going all out. Plus, you can keep this holiday within your economic reach.

Step 2- Enjoy the company that you keep- Valentine's Day isn't all about spending all your money on expensive gifts. It is about the company and the love you feel for someone. Taking the time to appreciate the person you are with, and let them know how much they mean to you. If you are running them around to various activities, the focus is more on getting there, than the actual person you are with.

Step 3- Find out your other half's favorite things- This could be anything. If it is a favorite meal, make it a special night by cooking, and taking in amazing conversation. You will be shocked at the response you get when they see the time you dedicated to them.

Step 4- Appreciate what is done for you- From a simple card, to even a simple "Happy Valentine's Day", these are moments to be treasured. You are thought of and loved. That is something to really appreciate.

Step 5- If you are single, share Valentine's day with people around you- Just because you're single, does not mean you cannot spend time showing someone you think is awesome, how great they really are. Even if it is a group of people. Have a gathering, or bring something to work that will show everyone, you care. It will bring smiles to those around you, and it will make being single seem secondary.

If you even try one of these steps, I think you will be surprised how much you can enjoy Valentine's Day, and those around you.
