Have you ever wanted to spend Christmas somewhere else?

Colorado has some of the most awe-inspiring, beautiful towns anywhere, and any one of them would be a perfect place to take the family and celebrate the season.

If you've ever been to Georgetown, you know how quaint a place it is. And when the snow is deep and the season is upon us, it's a great place to be for Christmas. The Georgetown Christmas Market starts on December 5 and runs through the 13th. Check it out, you just might find gifts you won't find anywhere else.

Head to Ouray as part of your Christmas celebration this year. You won't be disappointed. The town is already lit up with Christmas lights and on December 5, you can catch the Yule Day and Night Christmas Parade. From noon 'til 9 enjoy shopping, parades and more. And don't forget the Wine, Chocolate and Cheese Festival on December 12 to raise money for the Ouray Mountain Rescue Team.

Breck has my most favorite thing of the season. The Race of the Santas. You truly haven't enjoyed the season fully until you see hundreds of people dressed as jolly old St. Nick running a 5 k race. Check out the handmade art market too. And if that isn't enough, it's one of the most beautiful towns in Colorado at any time of year.

The coolest parade you will ever see is held every Christmas in Telluride. It's the Torchlight Parade and it happens down the slopes. As neat as it is to be a part of it, what looks really cool is the view from the town as people make their way down the side of the mountain, lighting up the night. Check out the webcams to get an idea of just how much snow they have already.

There you go, my friends. A few suggestions to get you out of the house and enjoying the season in a whole new way.
