Holiday lighting festivities are kicking in all across Colorado!

The lights are on in downtown Grand Junction. Ready or not, here come the holidays! If you love holiday lights then you'll want to check out these awesome Colorado lighting events.

Light the Lights– If you're heading over to Denver for Thanksgiving make plans to take in the "Light of Lights" event. A holiday tradition nearly 100 years in the making, the annual lighting of Denver's City and County building is a great way to kick off the holidays. There are lots of lights, an ice winter festival in Civic Center Park with hot chocolate for the kids and adult beverages for the well, adults. The lighting happens about 6:15-6:30 PM on the evening of November 23rd.

Catch the Glow Christmas Parade and Celebration- If you can make it up to Estes Park after Thanksgiving be sure to take in the magic of the season as the town lights up for Christmas. The "Catch The Glow Christmas Parade and Celebration" is an afternoon an evening of holiday fun. Hang with ole' St. Nick at his workshop from 12 noon to 2 PM and then take in the lighted Christmas parade along Elkhorn Avenue on the evening of November 23rd at 5:30.  

Night of Lights in Gunnison– Plan to take in the start of the holiday season in Gunnison by rolling down to Main Street for live entertainment, holiday music and more. There will be lots of lights, community fun and storefront displays. This year's "Night of Lights" event is Friday, November 30th from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. This year's theme is "It's a Wonderful Gunnison Life."

Lighting of Breckenridge– Their famous troll may be dismantled but there is another reason to visit Breck for the holidays. Head to the mountain town and see how it's transformed for the holidays. Don't miss the Race of the Santas! There's a holiday market, holiday doggie parade, reindeer run, caroling, and the "Lighting of Breckenridge." The fun is on Saturday, December 8th. The events start at about 3 PM and continue through the evening.

Christmas Eve Torchlight Parade– If you're looking for something special and unique for your holiday lighting experience, head to Telluride for incredible Christmas eve torchlight parade. Nearly 100 Telluride folks can be seen from town as they ski down the Telluride Trail and into town all carrying glowing torches. Best spots to take in this special event are at Main St., Pacific, and Columbia Ave. The "Christmas Eve Torchlight Parade" starts around 6:30.
