We're taking it back to 1955 when there was no visitor center or entrance station at the Colorado National Monument. We're checking into the Colorado National Monument, 1955 style.

In 1955 there wasn't a visitor center at the Colorado National Monument. There was a check-in station and the above is what it looked like.

This check-in station was located at the intersection of Rim Rock Drive and Campground Raod in Fruita. The 1955 check-in station is actually located pretty close to where the current visitor's center is located now.

You can see the park ranger checking in vehicles next to the station. The park ranger's vehicle is the Dodge pick up truck parked next to the American flag. Note the 'Park Ranger' that's on the back of the truck.

As much as I love the Colorado National Monument's beauty in this photo, I love the cars a little bit more.
