Comedian Charlie Murphy died today (Apr. 12) at the age of 57 after a battle with leukemia.

Murphy, the older brother of Eddie, appeared in more than two dozen movies, and co-wrote two films with his brother — Norbit and Vampire in Brooklyn. He also starred in the TV series Are We There Yet? and The Boondocks, but his work on the small screen is most notable for his time on Comedy Central’s Chappelle’s Show.

One Chapelle’s Show sketch in particular — part of a series called “Charlie Murphy’s True Hollywood Stories” in which he recounts a night he spent partying with Prince — has gone down among comedy buffs as the stuff of legend. He’s also remembered for a similar sketch in which he talks about hanging out with Rick James.

Murphy, who became a widower following his wife’s death in 2009, leaves behind three children.

Remember his comedic legacy by watching his classic Prince sketch, as well as some of his other work, below. (Please note: some of the language is NSFW.)
