A Car Traveling at nearly 100 mph crashed into Colorado's first commercial radio station in Greeley, Colo.

Nobody was in the building at the time of the accident. According to News 9, the driver was pulled from the vehicle by a bystander as the car burst into flames.

The driver of the vehicle is now in the hospital in critical condition, and the fire did not spread into the building. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

KFKA in Greeley is Colorado's first commercially licensed radio station, it is also the second oldest radio station west of the Mississippi and fifth oldest radio station in the United States. The station first started broadcasting in 1921.

So now for the second time in its lifetime, the radio station has made history. Amazingly enough, the station is on the air today, and broadcasting as normal.

I have worked in many radio stations in my career. I have dealt with tornadoes, hail, wind, lightning, but NEVER a car blasting into the building.
