Colorado's Red Mountain Pass isn't exactly a place where you want to take a shortcut. Last Friday, a Minnesota driver experienced a close call when his car nearly went over a sheer cliff.

Check out the video at the top. That's a 2015 Ford driven by 75-year-old James Keogh of Minnesota. Keogh was driving north on Highway 550 from Silverton to Ouray at roughly 8:30 pm. last Friday night. As he approached mile marker 90, it appears he hit the mountainside and then crossed into the oncoming lane. From there, his vehicle came to rest as it dangled over the edge of the cliff.

According to the Durango Herald, Keogh suffered only minor injuries. Colorado State Patrol Trooper Josh Lewis said Keogh did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Who discovered Keogh following the incident? The Durango Herald reports Todd Smith of Durango was among the first on the scene. Smith, along with a friend, Ron Ernst, found Keogh in the vehicle, disoriented. According to Smith, the car's airbags had deployed.
