Are Grand Junction Dad’s Being Taken For Granted?

Fathers Day never seems to have as much hype as Mother’s Day does, but a new national survey is telling us that we owe Dad much needed special attention this year. According to a new national survey, I think they may be on to something here

The survey reveals that more than half of adult children sometimes feel they take their dads for granted. But why is that?

 Families expect so much from Dad, he is  the breadwinner, is the perfect romantic husband, caretaker for children young and older, athletic supporter, and the guy who seems to be able to fix just about anything. Dads never seem to tell us about their needs and accomplishments, and most importantly, mom seems to get all the attention!

So as I took a look a bit further into what children are doing for dad, and what dad really wants, this is what I found:

Top Gifts Adult Children THINK dad wants:

• Top gift: a card
• Second: quality time with the kids and family
• Third: gift cards

But when Dads were asked what they REALLY wanted...this is what they said:

• Top gift: quality time with the kids and family
• Second: gift cards
• Equally tied for third: retreat to the man cave and a card

So this Father's day, really take the time to see what your Dad could really use, need, and most important WANT. It will make Father's Day amazing for him this year!
