After Hours Shoppers Steal Truck From Grand Junction Dealership
It’s common to look at vehicles on a car lot after hours. Looking is legal, but driving off in the vehicle without signing paperwork and paying isn’t.
According to Crime Stoppers of Mesa County, a truck at Maxim Motors, 2850 North Avenue, was so appealing that those looking didn’t want to wait until the dealership was open, so they stole the truck.
The truck theft occurred between 6 p.m. on March 17 and 8:45 a.m. on March 18. The suspects took a white and silver 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Truck with a custom homemade 5th wheel trailer hitch built into the bed of the truck. The vehicle is estimated to be worth about $16,000.
If you have seen this truck or know the people involved in the theft, you can make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 241-7867. If the information leads to an arrest, you could earn up to a $1,000 reward.
Anonymous reports can also be submitted through the Crime Stoppers website.
