What does 2,200 pounds of turkey, 800 pounds of dressing, and 600 pounds of gravy do for Grand Junction? It makes for one great Thanksgiving dinner that's what!

KREX found volunteers at Colorado Mesa University working hard to prepare turkey, gravy, and stuffing for those who are less fortunate in our area, as part of the Salvation Army Thanksgiving Dinner.

The Colorado Mesa University kitchen staff has been  working with the Salvation Army to help prepare a Thanksgiving meal for almost 2,000 local residents, and that is no easy task. The total process will take a week.

In addition to more kitchen staff, several CMU athletic teams have volunteered their time to help prepare the more than 2,000 pounds of turkey.

The event will be held at the Grand Junction Elks Lodge, From 11 am to 1 pm
