The annual Grand Junction Girl Scouts Cocktails and Cookie Creations Friday (April 17) took Girl Scout cookies and turned them into appetizers that were incredible to see and delicious to eat.

This year was the first year the annual event was held at the Avalon theater. The venue offered those attending two floors full of great appetizers, craft beer, wine, cocktails plus live and silent auction items.

The event, benefiting Girl Scouts of Colorado-Western Colorado, featured some of Grand Junction's finest chefs showcasing their abilities using a Girl Scout cookie as the base ingredient.

Those attending had the opportunity to vote for their favorites with this year's winner being The Local who's chef surrounded a Samoa with Chorizo creating a blast of sweet, spicy, melt-in-your-mouth appetizer that was, in my opinion, completely 'over the top.'
